ブラジルで日本の心を指導： 和太鼓奏者 渡辺洋一
（財）日本太鼓連盟一級公認指導員、太鼓集団天邪鬼 代表
太鼓集団天邪鬼代表、渡辺洋一は（財）日本太鼓連盟の事業の一環として、ブラジルで1ヶ月間に渡る和太鼓指導を行い、世界最大の日系社会を中心に日本の伝統文化を伝える事に成功いたしました。 （財）日本太鼓連盟の事業により、近年盛り上がりを見せるブラジルの和太鼓にさらなる追い風となりました。
「聖火ランナーとして伝統のバトンタッチがブラジルでできた」と語る渡辺洋一は7月5−26日の間、ジュンジアイ、ロンドリーナ、リベロンプレットで和太鼓の底辺を広める（財）日本太鼓連盟講習会を行い400人以上の子供達を中心とした受講生に太鼓の歴史や衣装の着付けの指導をし、国境や言葉の壁を越えたビートで通じあう真の触合いを成し遂げました。
全国に500人以上の弟子を持つ渡辺洋一はその高い指導力が認められ、（財）日本太鼓連盟一級公認指導員、文化庁文化交流使に認定されました。 演奏者としても人間国宝・山本邦山、ジャズ界の坂田明や原信夫、邦楽家・仙波清彦などと共演し、アメリカ、ドイツ、スコットランド、インドネシアなど40数カ国以上で海外公演をして参りました。

Torch of Japanese Tradition Arrives in Brazil
Through Lessons By Yoichi Watanabe
Nippon Taiko Foundation First Level Taiko Instructor, Amanojaku Leader
(TOKYO) – Yoichi Watanabe, master drummer and founder of Taiko Shudan Amanojaku, one of the world’s most respected taiko (Japanese drum) ensembles, has returned from a month-long Nippon Taiko Foundation-organized teaching mission in Brazil, where the art form is gaining tremendous popularity, especially among Japanese-Brazilian children.
“I think I’ve passed the torch of Japanese tradition to the people of Brazil” said Mr. Watanabe, who led Nippon Taiko Foundation Seminars from July 5 – 26th in Jundiai, Londrina, and Ribeirao Preto. Over 400 participants, mostly children, took part in the Seminars on the history of taiko, the proper way to wear traditional Japanese attire, and rhythms ranging from the very basic to professional quality compositions. Mr. Watanabe’s efforts transcended cultural and language barriers to achieve communication through the sharing of what he calls “Soul Beat.”
Mr. Watanabe, well-known for his teachings and performances, is a First Level Taiko Instructor certified by the Nippon Taiko Foundation, as well as a Special Advisor for Cultural Exchange appointed by the Japanese government. A pioneer in the taiko world, Mr. Watanabe has performed throughout the world, and has worked with Living National Treasure Hozan Yamamoto, jazz greats Akira Sakata and Nobuo Hara, as well as Hogaku percussionist Kiyohiko Semba.
